Wildflower Walk and Talk: Ridgway River Walk 6/4
Different elevations and habitats provide opportunities to view a wide variety of Colorado’s native plants and wildflowers. Ridgway writer Mary Menz and Montrose photographer Jim Pisarowicz will share their extensive plant knowledge and excitement for the area with you. Slowly stroll along the Uncompahgre River as we look at blooming shrubs and early wildflowers of Ridgway. Each year brings a different perspective to the landscape depending on winter precipitation. Bring cameras and nature journals to satisfy your creative outlets.
Registration includes a copy of their book Common Wildflowers of the San Juan Mountains (second printing 2022). Special guest and fellow NPM Sandra Dick will also join the group as a guide!

San Juan Trail Tri 6/14
he 3rd Annual San Juan Trail Tri will be held on June 14, 2025 in Ridgway State Park, Colorado. This event is certain to become a regional favorite, showcasing our beautiful home with a trail run and paddle in Ridgway State Park and mountain bike on the Ridgway Area Trails. Money raised from this event directly benefits the Montrose Recreation Foundation and our partner, Voyager Youth Program. Registration is open now!

Robin Hood Summer Theatre Camp 6/23-27
Join Erin Cawley for a week-long theatre camp for ages 6 -11 focused on the production of a short play at the end of the week. We’ll work on theatre skills, teamwork skills, prop and costume ideas/creation, theatre games, and more. The camp concludes with a performance on Friday, June 27th at the Wright Opera House Theatre. Doors open at 1:00 PM, and the show starts at 1:30 PM.

The Hardrock 100 7/11
The Hardrock Hundred Mile Endurance Run is an ultramarathon of 102.5 miles in length, plus 33,197 feet of climb and 33,197 feet of descent for a total elevation change of 66,394 feet, at an average elevation of over 11,000 feet. The run is held on a loop course on 4WD roads, dirt trails, and cross country in Southern Colorado's San Juan Range, USA. In 2025, the run will be in the counter-clockwise direction.

The Ouray 100 7/18
The Ouray 100 starts and finishes at Fellin Park, only yards from the hot springs. With over 40k feet of elevation gain, this is one of the most difficult 100 milers in the world. The route includes: Camp Bird Road, Silver Basin, Imogene Pass Road, Chicago Tunnel, Fort Peabody, Ptarmigan Lake, Richmond Trail, Ironton, Corkscrew Gulch, Gray Copper Trail, Weehawken Trail/Alpine Mine Overlook, Hayden Trail/Crystal Lake, Old Twin Peaks Trail, Silvershield Trail, Perimeter Trail/Lower Cascade Trail, Chief Ouray Mine Trail, and Old Horsethief Trail/Bridge of Heaven.
